OUR MISSION
Rebuilding Together's
mission is to preserve and revitalize houses and communities,
assuring that low-income homeowners, from the elderly and disabled
to families with children, live in warmth, safety, and independence.
In partnership with communities, our goal is to make a sustainable
impact.
We make this impact
through providing necessary repairs free of charge to existing
homeowners. These necessary repairs often include home
modifications, roofing, plumbing, and electrical repairs and/or
improvements - our goal is to provide a warm, safe and dry
environment for low-income homeowners, enabling them to live
independently and with dignity.
While many affiliates
provide year-round services, all affiliates plan and prepare
rebuilding projects or another special event on National Rebuilding
Day, typically held on the last Saturday in April.
Rebuilding Together
is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and promotes the replication
and coordination of affiliates throughout the United States. Founded
in 1988, the
national
office provides assistance to affiliates in program development,
board and staff development, marketing, communications, and
financial management.
The Yellowstone
County Chapter of
Rebuilding Together was
founded by Sandy Wong of Countrywide Home Loans in 2003.
Projects to date have
served many Yellowstone County homeowners. Current officers and
board members are listed on our
